Follow the Money Tampa
Where your tax dollars go --and why you deserve answers.
Tampa residents are paying for projects that most people never get a clear explanation for.
I'm a general contractor. I've been on job sites, inside bids, and in front of city officials.
When something doesn't make sense --I ask.
And when answers don't come ----I keep asking.
This page is where I show exactly what I'm finding.
No spin. No politics. Just the facts.
Public Records Requests
City Center Construcion & Financing - Requested 1-5-26 - 35 days and counting.....
South Howard Project Funding & Approvals - Requested 1-27-26 - Partial response received 3-4-26 Records require payment.
Ballast Point Pier Engineering & FEMA Determination - Requested 2-5-26 - Received conflicting report on 2-23-26
What I've Uncovered So Far:
This page is updated chronologically as new information becomes available.
Drop 10 - Culvert found in South Tampa
An existing drainage culvert was identified within a South Tampa neighborhood.
Despite the presence of this infrastructure, nearby areas continue to flood.
This raises the question about whether these exiting systems are being maintained and utilized at their full capacity.
Further investigation is ongoing.
Drop 9 - Neighborhood prone to flooding left out of plan.
I went into a Tampa neighborhood that floods -and it is not included in the Howard Flood Plan.
That raises a serious question:
Who decides which neighborhoods get help---and which don't?
I'm not letting this go.
Drop 8 - Ballast Point Pier - What Doesn't Add UP
The City's engineering report condemned the pier and showed lots of missing deckboards. But my on-site footage shows a very different picture. We need answers before we spend millions of dollars and keep the pier closed for years.
Drop 7 - Is This Your Neighborhood - Day 109 of no records.
When residents ask questions, they deserve answers.
I will keep asking ---until we get them.
Drop 6 -Ballast Point Pier Investigation
The current rebuild timeline for Ballast Point Pier is estimated at up to four years.
As a licensed contractor who submitted a bid on this project, this timeline raises questions that deserve public transparency.
Related public records have been requested and will be shared here when received.
Drop 5 - Ballast Point Pier - Timeline Concerns
Ballast Point Pier is a historic community landmark. The public was told it must be demolished and rebuilt as a FEMA-funded project with a timeline of up to four years. I placed a bid that would have repaired the pier in months, not years.
I have requested the engineering report that classified the pier as a total loss. Tampa residents deserve to see the data behind that decision.
Transparency matters.
Drop 4 - South Howard Project Review
This project involves significant public funding and long construction timelines affecting local businesses and traffic.
Questions remain about scope, engineering alternatives, and total financial impact.
Public records have been requested and will be posted when available.
Drop 3- Records Request Update
Formal public records requests related to the city building project were submitted.
As of this posting, responsive records have not yet been provided.
Updates will be shared here when documents are released.
Questions remain regarding land use, design choices, and long-term value to surrounding neighborhoods.
Residents deserve transparency on how major public investments are planned and evaluated.
Additional records have been requested and will be posted when received.
Drop 1 - City Center Cost Review
This facility was reported to cost approximately $110 million for 161,000 square feet.
That places the project at a cost per square foot significantly higher than many comparable public buildings.
Public records have been requested to obtain a full itemized cost breakdown.

Transparency matters.
