Flooding and Drainage

Tampa states it spends millions on stormwater and drainage. A lot of resident don't see any improvements. We should be able to see where that money is going - and whether it is actually solving the problem. 

Flooding isn't new to Tampa. We are low lying and we all accept that. What we don't accept is the fact we have not had our drainage system maintained as it should have been. Development was allowed in areas before infrastructure was even considered. We need to evaluate our existing system and determine what is no longer functioning the way it should.  Without proper evaluation,  how can we even know what we really need? Are those drains clogged, half way, fully? I offered to provide  free camera footage of our drains but the City did not respond. 

WHAT I'M LOOKING AT

Where is the stormwater money going? Is it going to the neighborhoods that actually need it or the ones who have the deepest pockets? 

Are we maintaining the drains we already have? Many inlets seem to be covered by too many layers of asphalt repairs. 

How much money is designated for which neighborhoods? This should be published information. 

What have we already spent? Are we getting any results? Which neighborhoods are still flooding from a hard rain event? 

Before we keep spending more money, I want to know what we already have, what's working, what's not working, and why.
